Travelling Gavel moves to Polmont

The travelling Gavel is again on the move this time bouncing back to Lodge Zetland 391.

While it was not their intention on the evening of 11th March 2026 to go for the Gavel, some 8 brethren from Lodge Zetland went along to support Lodge Polmont 793 on their regular meeting night. Zetland had one more than Lodge Bannockburn Bruce and Thistle who had some 7 members in attendance. However just as a reminder, to claim the Gavel a deputation must consist of 8 or more members or honoorary members.

The Gavel will be available for any lodge to take from Lodge Zetland on Tuesday 17th March where BB Lawrence Dickson’s son will take his first step with a 19:30 Tyle.

Below is a picture of the presentation of the Gavel from RWM Brother Ian Simpson to PM Brother Peter Neilson, with the members of both lodges who attended .

Therefore the Travelling Gavel is now at Lodge Zetland No 392. Their next meeting will take place on Tuesday 17th March where they will be conferring an Entered Apprentice Degree.

Please ensure PG Secretary and myself are advised if you claim it.

The Gavel is available for any Lodge in the Province to claim.

So the place now to go to is Zetland.

Please let me know at graeme.russell@blueyonder.co.uk

To all you guys with Mobile phones if you want to send a picture of the handover of the Gavel, or for that matter anything of interest, I can post it.
