2023 Reigning Masters’ Degree

The 21st Annual Reigning Masters Degree took place on Friday 28th April 2023 in the premises of Lodge Dolphin No 911. The Degree was an Entered Apprentice Degree on one candidate and was carried out in a very capable and dignified manner by the Masters of the Province of Stirlingshire

Also present on the evening was Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire headed by the Provincial Grand Master Brother Gordon WS Sewell and The Grand Lodge of Scotland was represented by the Grand Master Mason Brother W Ramsay McGhee who was accompanied by Brother Alexander CG Moncrieff, Substitute Grand Master, Brother John McKenzie, Senior Grand Warden and Honorary Members of Grand Lodge from within the Province.

The event realized in excess of £1000 which will be donated to the Stirlingshire Scout Association in order to assist them in installing a defibrillator at Barrwood.

Barrwood is a camping site, approximately 2ml north of Dunipace on the road to Stirling. Sir Ian Bolton was the land owner who bequeathed Barrwood to the trustees for the Boy Scout Movement in 1946 and is now owned, maintained and operated by the Barrwood Trust in support of Scouting in the local area and has been used by generations of Scouts from across Falkirk district for many years. The first Patrol Leaders’ Training Course was held at Barrwood in 1922, although the land had been used for Scout camps as far back as 1914. It comprises of 96 acres of which 75% is suitable for a range of camping options. The remainder of the site is given over to mixed forestry.
