531 Installation

The Annual Installation of Lodge Abercromby No 531 took place on Saturday 16th December 2023.

All Installations are special but his one was just a wee bit extra special, as prior to Brother John William Don (Jackie) being reinstalled into the Chair of KS, he was presented with a 70 year Diploma, in regognition of his dedication to Freemasonry in general and to Lodge Abercromby in particular, by the outgoing Right Worshipful Master Brother William Wilson, along with Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Brother Gordon Sewell and Right Worshipful Substitute Grand Master Brother John McKenzie.

If that was not special  enough, he was then installed into the Chair, at the grand age of 88 years, by his two sons Brothers Ronald M Don and Stephen WM Don who Jackie had installed into the Chair in Lodge Abercromby in 1997 and 1996. They were ably assisted by Brothers Alistair Mackay and Robert Stewart and several other PM's of the Lodge in a well worked and well-coordinated Installation.

Brother Don was last in the chair 30 years ago in 1993.
