176 Donate to Stathcarron

Lodge St Andrew (Denny and Loanhead) No 176 boosted the funds of Strathcarron Hospice with an end of session bumper cheque for £2,650.

Right Worshipful Master Brother Trevor Deans and his predecessor Archie Mackay are pictured with Claire Kennedy of Strathcarron after the presentation in the Lodge premises in Kirkslap, Denny.

Brothers Deans and Mackay both donated money instead of giving gifts to the Brethren who installed them as Masters of the Lodge to get the ball rolling. There was a bumper raffle of malt whisky, the auction of a golf voucher and support from the Provincial Grand Lodge’s Chromium passport initiative. The Lodge then gave a substantial donation from its benevolent fund to give a final total of £2,650.

Claire Kennedy, Corporate Fundraiser for the Hospice, said: “This is yet another fantastic effort by the masons and their continued support for our work at Strathcarron Hospice is very much appreciated.”

The Lodge’s next fundraising event is an afternoon cabaret show on 1st June to support Prostate Scotland.
