2024 PGL Golf

On Sunday the 19^th May the Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire once again held their Annual Golf Competition.

This year, for the first time, it was held at Tulliallan Golf Club in Kincardine, on a very warm and dry day. A very good turn out of golfers turned up to play and after the coffee and rolls SPGM Brother Lenny McComb welcomed all whose present and hoped they would enjoy their day, he then passed over to Brother Peter Neilson, who was thanked by Brother McComb for organising this years event.

Brother Neilson then proceeded to draw the tee off holes for the golfers and also wished for them an enjoyable days golf, all teeing off at 9:00ish.

Around 1:30 the golfers started to return where they then went to get their lunch which was prepared and served by Karen and her staff.

After all had eaten lunch the PGM Brother Gordon Sewell was presented, and he also thanked everyone for their attendance then proceeded to present the prizes to the winning participants, before carrying on to draw the raffle

The winners were

 Main Team Competition - Graham Baillie and Henry Muir - Lodge Clackmannan No. 1303 - 47points

 Sub Team - Graham and Ali Kerr - Lodge Ladywell  No. 1474 - 46 points

 Visiting Team - Tam Hunter and his guest Ross Weston - Lodge Slamannan  No. 484 - 39 points

 Stableford  0-12  - James Black - Lodge Slamannan No. 484  - 40 points

 Stableford 13-24 - Ali Kerr - Lodge Ladywell No.1474 - 42 points

 Nearest Pin 6^th -John Cowan - Lodge Tulliallan No. 598

 Nearest Pin 12^{th -} Henry Muir - Lodge Clackmannan No. 1303

After the raffle Brother McComb thanked the PGM for presenting the prizes and drawing the raffle, he also thanked all those who donated prizes for the raffle. A collection was taken from all who attended and was presented to Karen to distribute to her staff, again thanking her for the superb lunch that she had provided, also to the Club for allowing us to have our Charity Competition at their Course.

Peter Neilson then informed all that once all the monies had been collected the proceeds would go to Action For Children at Tayavalla House in Camelon, Falkirk.

The golf committee would also like to say a massive thanks to Billy Reid for his assistance on the day.

As Lodge Clackmannan No.1303 were this years winners they will decide the Charity for next year so that it can be entered on the sponsor sheets before sending out.

Next year the event will once again be held at Tulliallan Golf Club on 11^th May 2025.
