Square and Compasses Waving Saltire

2025 PGL Fishing

On Saturday 7th June anglers from the province again assembled at Linlithgow Loch to take part in this years competition. The weather was to be overcast with light showers which was better than last years clear skies and sunshine.

The Provincial Grand Master Brother Gordon Sewell welcomed all those who attended and hoped that they all have a good days fishing, with tight lines.

Once all the boats returned, the weigh in was carried out by one of the boatmen, 34 fish with a total weight of 92lbs 8ozs was the days catch.

Prior to the prize giving Brother Sewell, on his last duty as PGM, drew the raffle numbers on his phone. He then proceeded with the prize giving. The heaviest fish weighing 5lb 8ozs was caught by Cameron Brown from Lodge Bannockburn Bruce and Thistle No 312.

The winning team with a total weight of 20lbs 3ozs were Ian Taylor and John Scott from Lodge Ladywell No 1474.

At the conclusion the PGM thanked all the anglers who supported this event during his time as PGM, those who donated monies and raffle prizes, Tom and his staff at the fishery for allowing us to fish here, and Brother Billy Reid for organizing the event.

Fishery booked for next years event on 6th June 2026. As Lodge Ladywell were this years winners they have chosen Strathcarron Hospice as next years charity.

A presentation will take place later once all monies have been collected for  Cradle to Crayons Laurieston.
