Square and Compasses Waving Saltire

2023 Fishing

On the 3rd June, once again some 28 anglers attended the Annual Fishing Competition at the Black Loch Fishery. Due to the hot and sunny weather not a lot of fish were caught, in fact only 8 were returned for weighing. The heaviest fish, weighing 5lbs, was caught by John Scott from Lodge Ladywell 1474. The winners were Robert MacDonald and Martin Harvey from Lodge St. John Falkirk No.16, with a total weight 5lbs 11ozs.

At the conclusion the Provincial Grand Master, Brother Gordon Sewell, thanked all those for their attendance and support. The Substitute Provincial Grand Master, Brother Reg Weston, was thanked for attending to present the prizes and for drawing the raffle. Brother Billy Reid thanked all for donating raffle prizes and sponsor money.

Next years venue was not agreed, but it was agreed that all money from this years event, when confirmed, will go to Maggies Centre.
